WHAT OTHERS THINK
Award-winning cloud accounting software provider, FreeAgent, teamed up with partners Royal Bank of Scotland to attend the inaugural Accounting Live event in Glasgow earlier this month.
Billed as ‘Scotland’s exhibition and conference for accountancy and finance professionals’, Accounting Live took place on 1st and 2nd November.
The team were kept busy giving demonstrations of FreeAgent - recently voted the best bookkeeping/accounting software for SMEs at AccountingWeb’s Software Excellence awards - while RBS explained how its partnership with FreeAgent and wider business banking offering can help accountants support their small business clients.
In the seminar hall, FreeAgent founder and CEO Ed Molyneux looked to the future to consider how the advent of automation technology could impact the industry in the long term. FreeAgent CCO Kevin McCallum also took to the stage with Gerard Ring, Business Banking Digital Programme Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, to describe the opportunities that the upcoming Open Banking directive can offer accountants.
Reflecting on the event, Kevin said: “As an Edinburgh-based company, we were delighted to have the opportunity to join forces with our partners at Royal Bank of Scotland to take part in an event that celebrates Scotland’s thriving accountancy and finance industry.”
